Harvey Weinstein’s buddy Ben Affleck spoke out against him when the sexual harassment allegations came to light. But it turns out Ben Affleck is in some ways, similar to Weinstein.
“I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades. The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others,” wrote Affleck. However, it has happened to others, and he has been the cause of some of it.
First Rose McOwen accused Affleck of knowing about Weinstein the whole time. Affleck even told her he confronted Weinstein over it. “G*DDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT” you said that to my face. The press conf I was made to go to after assault. You lie,” she tweeted.
He also acted extremely inappropriately towards Hilarie Burton on video. He groped her. He apologized. “I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize,” tweeted Affleck. But it didn’t end there.
“I would also love to get an apology from Ben Affleck who grabbed my ass at a Golden Globes party in 2014. He walked by me, cupped my butt and pressed his finger into my crack. I guess he tried to play it like he was politely moving me out of the way and oops touched my butt instead of my lower back? Like most women in these situations I didn’t say anything but I have thought a lot about what I’d say if I ever saw him again,” tweeted makeup artist Annamarie Tendler. “I was also at this party and *multiple* friends had this same exact experience,” tweeted TV writer Jen Statsky.
