President Donald Trump has had his hands full at home in the United States, where bitter Democrats and their establishment friends in the “Never Trump” wing of the Republican party have been conspiring to try to oust Trump from power.
Perhaps it is good, then, that Donald Trump is about to get some distance from poisonous Washington, D.C., and is embarking on an important international trip that will see him visit with some of America’s key allies abroad. One of President Trump’s first destinations on his journey will be Saudi Arabia. According to reports, Trump will be taking some very high profile people along with him.
During Trump’s two day stay in Saudi Arabia, he will have at his side Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, Fox News host Bret Baier and none other than country music legend and proud patriot Toby Keith. Trump and his guests will be received together with other leaders from the Middle Eastern world in a banquet hosted by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman as part of a summit.
Simon Henderson, director of the Gulf and Energy Policy Program for the Washington Institute, stated that “Saudi Arabia is delighted at being the number-one (stop for Trump’s visit), delighted by the re-emergence of a strong diplomatic relationship with the United States and delighted by the opportunity to show off Saudi leadership of the Arab and the Muslim world by getting everybody to turn up in Riyadh for multiple, overlapping summits.”
On Saudi Arabia’s website, the country talked about the summit, saying, “United under a single vision – Together We Prevail – this highly anticipated event, the first of its kind in history, will renew our mutual commitment to global security and further strengthen already deep business, cultural and political ties. As we bring the world together to confront violent extremist ideology, so too are we working in partnership with our American and Islamic allies to improve the lives of our people and strengthen our collective economies.” Are you proud that Toby Keith and Bret Baier will help represent the United States together with Trump?
