Liberals and anti-Trump Republicans are trying to make a big deal out of the fact that President Donald Trump used a curse word during a closed doors meeting to express his frustration at some of our country’s backwards and unhelpful immigration policies.
This off-the-cuff comment has gotten significant airtime, while the hate-filled, profanity-laden tirade made by a CNN contributor in response has somehow gone almost entirely unreported. Philip Mudd is CNN’s resident counterterrorism analyst and evidently does not know how to hold his tongue and comport himself on television that children could be watching.
On Don Lemon’s program the guests dicussed President Trump’s controversial “shithole” remark, and Mudd responded with a cascade of swears, claiming that Trump is a racist, “A white honkey from Norway can come here, but a black dude from Haiti can’t. What does that tell in an American that in one generation called you a nigger? What does that tell you, Don?”
Mudd went on, in a torrent of obscenities, “I can tell you what that tells a honkey like me. We’re no different than we were a generation ago, and were learning the same lessons that we learned when we called a Chinese man a ‘slant-eye,’ when we called a man from Guatemala a ‘spic’ and a ‘wetback,’ and we called a black man a ‘nigger.’ That’s what it tells me. We got a ways to learn.”
During an earlier appearance on Wolf Blitzer’s show, Mudd was equally profane and inappropriate. After telling Blitzer “I’m a proud shitholer,” Mudd went on disgustingly, “My family was called ‘WOPs’ and ‘mackerel eaters.’ We came from Italians and Irish who were regarded as people from shithole countries. A century ago we called people ‘slant-eyes,’ Chinese immigrants that we’re now ashamed of speaking about in those terms because they came from a shithole country and now they’re a backbone of this country. In the 1940s, we called people ‘traitors’ because they came from a shithole country called Japan, and we’re ashamed. We called people who fled from conflict in Central America ‘spics’ and ‘wetbacks,’ and we’re ashamed.” Are you appalled that CNN aired this kind of talk on live TV? Watch below:
