The trendy thing for Hollywood entertainers to do for the last year plus has been to bash Republican Donald Trump at every opportunities. We have seen this play out time and time again with everyone from Academy Award winner Meryl Streep to toxic D-lister Kathy Griffin.
Thankfully, famous comedian and film actor Kevin Hart is not one of those celebrities who is opportunistically taking cheap shots at our Commander-in-Chief. In a recent interview with the Daily Beast, Kevin Hart explains why he will not join other entertainers in attempting to mock Trump.
Said Hart, “The way that I see it, my job as a comedian is to spread positivity. To make people laugh. And I don’t want to draw attention to what’s already pissing us as a people off.”
In an interview with Variety magazine, he added about why he avoids politics in his act, “When you jump into that political realm, you’re alienating some of your audience. The world today, it’s really not a laughing matter. It’s serious. I don’t want to draw attention to things I don’t have nice things to say about.”
Hart has been focusing his energies on doing positive things for Americans. For example, he’s starting a streaming service called “Laugh Out Loud” where he hopes to showcase new comedians who need a break. Said Kevin, “I want them to say, ‘Oh my god, the opportunities are large at Laugh Out Loud, because of what Kevin Hart is trying to do.’ He is a comedian’s comedian. And being that he is, he’s looking out for us and doing something in a way that nobody else has.” Are you glad Kevin hasn’t caved to Hollywood liberal pressure about Trump?
