‘Sex And The City’ actress and Democratic candidate Cynthia Nixon accused the room temperature of being sexist during her debate with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Before her debate with Cuomo her strategist Rebecca Katz wrote a complaint about the room temperatures.
She wrote to the New York Times that conditions are “notoriously sexist when it comes to room temperature, so we just want to make sure we’re all on the same page here.” she demanded that the temperature be 76 degrees so she wouldn’t be uncomfortably cold.
Nixon challenged Cuomo to many debates but Cuomo only agreed to one, two weeks before the primary. “CBS was very frank with us that they really didn’t have a choice — that these were his demands and if they were not acceded to, he wouldn’t show up,” said Nixon.
Nixon also accused Cuomo of being too in control over the debate conditions, even though she demanded the temperature be 76 degrees to avoid sexism.
“These silly accusations are more of the same. They can debate about debates, but the governor is focused on having a substantive, in-depth discussion about the issues facing New York,” said Cuomo. In their debate, Nixon accused Cuomo of lying. Instead of denying that he lies, he said he would stop lying when she stopped lying.
