During the past two years, Fox News has been hit with significant turnover, including the departure of chairman Roger Ailes, co-president Bill Shine and numerous on-air personalities including Megyn Kelly, Greta van Susteren and Andrea Tantaros.
You can now add Making Money host Charles Payne of the Fox Business Network to that list, as 21st CEntury Fox CEO James Murdoch just suspended him over charges that he sexually harassed political pundit Scottie Nell Hughes.
Stated a representative from Fox to the Los Angeles Times, “We take issues of this nature extremely seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for any professional misconduct. This matter is being thoroughly investigated and we are taking all of the appropriate steps to reach a resolution in a timely manner.”
Charles has come clean about the fact that he had an affair with the married Hughes from 2013 to 2016. However, Charles’ lawyer Neal Pavel stated that Payne “categorically denies” sexually harassing Hughes in any way. Payne knew Scottie from the many appearances she made on Fox News while working for CNN.
These sexual harassment charges mirror the ones that ended up leveling Ailes and Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. Do you think the charges are legitimate, or is it part of a smear campaign by Fox executives?
