Former Fox and MSNBC anchor Greta Van Susteren attacked her own former network, MSNBC, for their awful response to President Trump’s State of the Union speech. MSNBC contributor Nicolle Wallace made an anti-Trump speech that seemed like it was prepared before Trump even spoke.
“I thought it revealed Donald Trump’s deep and almost sad obsession with being liked. I mean, he is always performing for audience watching. He was obviously aware that this audience tonight is different from the audience that tunes in to the kinds of one-on-one interviews he grants as president. And those are usually interviews granted to friendly anchors at Fox News,” said Wallace.
“I mean he was aware, as a TV figure, that the TV audience included people outside of the primetime audience at Fox News. But I don’t think we should sugarcoat what for a normal president would be sort of jaw-dropping elements of this speech,” said Wallace.
“There is a line getting a lot of attention as basically an attack on the deep states, saying that I call on Congress to empower every cabinet secretary with the authority to reward good workers and remove would those who undermine the public trust and fail the American people. That’s people who undermine the trust, that sounds like his deep state conspiracy,” said Wallace.
Susteren called out Wallace for her speech on Twitter. “Whether you are a Repub or a Dem, you have to wonder how Nicolle Wallace came up with this one (below) after she watched the SOTU- is she just making stuff up?” wrote Susteren. Do you think Susteren is right?
