President Trump called out NBC for spreading Fake News. CNN’s Jake Tapper responded by saying that the First Amendment allows him to say whatever he wants. That is a pretty scary opinion for a person whose job is to be honest about what is happening in the world. But the rest of the liberal media agreed with him.
“Fake @NBCNews made up a story that I wanted a “tenfold” increase in our U.S. nuclear arsenal. Pure fiction, made up to demean. NBC = CNN! With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!” tweeted President Trump.
Ever since he started his campaign one of his goals was to hold the media accountable for spreading lies. “President Trump saying today, ‘It’s frankly disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write, and people should look into it,’” started Tapper.
“Well, I have looked into it and you might want to start looking into it too, Mr. President,” said Tapper as he held up a Constitution. Tapper seems to be implying that the First Amendment makes it okay for him to spread Fake News. It doesn’t.
CNN’s Van Jones freaked out as well. “The idea that a sitting president would threaten local news outlets, broadcast networks, I’m going to snatch your license, that could have been — I mean even a novel with that in it would not have been published because it’s so ludicrous, but here we are,” said Jones.
