Steve Harvey met with President Trump back in January to discuss creating housing for underprivileged people. “We’re gonna team up and see if we can bring about some positive change in the inner cities, which I felt was my only agenda. He agreed, and he wants to do something. And he realizes that he needs some allies in that department. He seemed really sincere about it,” said Harvey about his meeting.
However, liberals were furious that Harvey would dare talk to President Trump and try to make the world a better place. For a liberal, it is unacceptable for a black person to have any kind of interaction with President Trump because it invalidates their claim that Trump is a racist. CNN’s Marc Lamont Hill went as far as calling Harvey a ‘mediocre negro’ for meeting with Trump.
“It was a bunch of mediocre Negroes being dragged in front of TV as a photo op for Donald Trump’s exploitative campaign against black people. And you are the prime example of that,” said Hill of Steve Harvey. However, Harvey didn’t let the insults get to him. TMZ caught up with him and asked if President Trump is keeping his promises.
“I’m working with HUD. I’m going to get some housing for underprivileged people. We’re going to set up some centers around the country. I’ve met with HUD. It’s going really well. God willing, it will work out,” said Harvey.
He wouldn’t comment on the rest of Trump’s presidency but said he was very happy with Trump keeping his promise to him. “All I said was, he’s keeping his word to what he said he would do for me,” Harvey laughed. Check out the video below.
