MSNBC’s Chris Matthew’s was caught on camera making a disturbing joke about wanting to rape Hillary Clinton. Before his 2016 interview with Hillary Clinton he talked about getting her water and drugging the water like Bill Cosby did before raping women.
“Can I have some of the queen’s waters? Precious waters?” he asked staff. “Where’s that Bill Cosby pill I brought with me?” he says, laughing hysterically at his own bad joke as he waited for the water.
Matthew’s released a statement apologizing for his comments. “This was a terrible comment I made in poor taste during the height of the Bill Cosby headlines. I realize that’s no excuse. I deeply regret it and I’m sorry,” he said.
This joke is especially disturbing after recent reports by women on how he treats his staffers. “He would eye down a woman who walked on set or comment on their features or what they were wearing. He would objectify them and interrupt them in a way that he would never do to his male guests. He has a very outdated view of women,” a producer told the Daily Caller in an exclusive interview.
“The screaming is beyond the screaming you’ve ever heard. You just feel so under attack. He did it so openly… what are you supposed to do when somebody is verbally abusing you and attacking you this way?” said another source. “Sadly, I know other women who won’t even be an anonymous source regarding Chris [Matthews] because they’re that concerned about the door closing on career opportunities in media,” said a producer.
