John Conyers, 88, has been in the news for sexual assault allegations. He recently announced that he would not be seeking re-election. However, Ian Conyers, John’s brother’s grandson told the New York Times that he is not resigning, he is retiring.
“He is not resigning. He is going to retire. His doctor advised him that the rigor of another campaign would be too much for him just in terms of his health,” said Ian Conyers.
“Representative John Conyers Jr., under intense pressure to resign amid multiplying allegations that he sexually harassed former employees, announced Tuesday that he would leave Congress immediately, and he endorsed his son John Conyers III to succeed him,” writes the New York Times.
However, if you look into John Conyers III’s past, you will find something very disturbing. He once released some rap songs, with some very disturbing lyrics. Some of his rap lyrics include “My n***as turn grams into grands” and “Ay f**k making a living bro, I’m trying to make history/So picture me letting the news nit-pick at me.”
In 2010 Conyers III made this tweet about his father. “My dad is a f***ing player and reckless as hell! He just got at this doods wife super low-key.” Conyers III recently made a tweet about his father’s endorsement. “It has been an honor to share his generosity and love with the world, the people of Detroit and the cause of civil rights nationwide. It is also an honor that my father endorses me as his successor in his congressional seat,” tweeted Conyers III. Check out one of his rap songs below.
