New York Times Mocks Conservatives For Being So Against The Sexual Abuse Of Children

There are now credible allegations that Pope Francis knew about sexual exploitation of children going on in the Vatican and did nothing about it. Conservatives have been reporting on the issue. And shockingly, liberals aren’t. In fact, the New York Times recently wrote an article mocking the Conservatives who care about the lives of these children.

The New York Times released an article called “Vatican Power Struggle Bursts Into Open as Conservatives Pounce.” Already they have made the problem seem smaller than it really is. And they are acting like Conservatives reporting on it is a bad thing. Why wouldn’t you pounce on something like that?

They started by talking about how progressive the pope is. “ROME — Since the start of his papacy, Francis has infuriated Catholic traditionalists as he tries to nurture a more welcoming church and shift it away from culture war issues, whether abortion or homosexuality. “Who am I to judge?” the pope famously said, when asked about gay priests,” they wrote.

“This battle, however, is being waged in an exceptionally open and brutal manner. It is fueled by a modern media age, the pope’s reluctance to silence critics, and an issue — child sexual abuse — that perhaps more than any other has prompted defections among the faithful. The accusations in the letter remain unsubstantiated. Asked Sunday night about their validity, Francis said he would not dignify them with a response,” they write about him covering for a child molester.

Why does the New York Times care more about insulting Conservatives than they do protecting children?
