In May, Sheriff David Clarke announced that he was accepting a job offer in the Department of Homeland Security. Since then Clarke announced that he would not be taking the Homeland Security job. After he first accepted the job, CNN tried attacking him in any way they could. They accused him of plagiarizing his Master thesis paper. He didn’t steal anyone’s words, he just failed to write his citations properly.
“Late Friday, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. formally notified Secretary of Homeland Security John F. Kelly that he had rescinded his acceptance of the agency’s offer to join DHS as an assistant secretary,” said Clarke’s adviser Craig Peterson.
“Sheriff Clarke is 100% committed to the success of President Trump, and believes his skills could be better utilized to promote the President’s agenda in a more aggressive role,” said Peterson.
“Last Tuesday Sheriff Clarke met with President Trump and discussed other roles where the Sheriff could be of greater assistance to the President, and the Country. The Sheriff is reviewing options inside and outside of government,” said Peterson.
Do you think it’s disappointing that Clarke isn’t taking the job? Do you think he his rejection of the job has anything to do with CNN’s attack on him?
