Something strange happened on Ted Cruz’s twitter account. He ‘liked’ a pornographic video which then got displayed on his Twitter page. The post features two people having sex with a third person watching. People from all sides of politics made fun of Cruz while waiting for some sort of explanation.
While waiting for an explanation CBS wrote that he was most likely not hacked. “The ‘I was hacked excuse is suspect, at best. Hacker groups are out for money, so they target something where there have financial gain. Websites get defaced and ransoms are set. Social media profiles are defaced in a similar way. That a so-called hacker figured out his password and only ‘liked’ some controversial tweet is highly unlikely,” said CBS Interactive’s senior SEO analyst, Thom Craver.
Ted Cruz then came forward with the truth. And it wasn’t that he was hacked.
“It was a staffing issue, and it was inadvertent, it was a mistake, it was not a deliberate action. There were a number of people on the team that have access to the account, and it appears that someone inadvertently hit the ‘like’ button,” explained Ted Cruz.
He also went on to make a joke about it. “Perhaps we should have done something like this during the Indiana primary,” joked Cruz.
